Erb and Tice Represent CHS in June Meet
Senior-to-be and three year state meet qualifier Tyrell Erb represented the Carlisle boys track and field program at the Jr. Olympics Qualifier held in Ames on June 21st. Erb competed in the 200m dash where he qualified 4th for the finals in 22.89 seconds. Erb finished 5th in the finals in 23.74. Junior-to-be Grant Tice competed in the prelims of the 100m dash where he finished 5th in 11.35 seconds, his best time of his career. Tice was unable to compete in the finals on Sunday.

CHS Boys Compete at State Meet!
The CHS boys 4x400m relay team closed out an excellent weekend at the state track and field meet held at Drake Stadium. The quartet of Henry Sanders, Joe Crowley, Nolan Vollstedt, and Tyrell Erb re-broke their school record to finish 3rd in the prelims in 3:25.02. On Saturday, the foursome finished 4th in the finals in 3:25.98.
Erb also placed 4th overall in Class 3A in the 400m dash (49.82 seconds) and finished 9th in the prelims of the 200m dash in a season best time of 22.80. Sophomore Grant Tice qualified for the 3A finals in the 100m dash with a time of 11.42. Grant finished 8th overall in Class 3A in the finals with a time of 11.53.
The 4x110m shuttle hurdle relay team (Crowley, Hagedorn, Stephens, Sanders along with alternates Klier and Wright) finished 13th out of 24 teams in a season best time of 1:00.50.
As a team, the Cats finished tied for 22nd with 11 team points.

As a team, the Cats finished in 4th place out of 8 teams with 86 points. DCG won district team title with 132 points. The 4x400m relay team broke the school record set in 1986 while this is Erb’s third straight season of qualifying in the 400m dash. Other top finishers on the night included the 4x100m relay team of Luke Murray, Noah Smith, Nathan Gerlach, and Tice who finished 3rd in 45.67. Sanders also finished 3rd in the 400m dash in 53.41. The 4x800m relay team of Taylor Hammond, Luke Sinclair, Trevor Carra, and Chad Carter finished 4th in a time of 8:52.13. The distance medley relay team of Chase Shannahan, Brayden Burk, Brian Robertson, and Carra also finished 4th in 4:04.63. Luke Oja finished 5th in the shot put (41-02.5) while Kire Seskis finished 5th in the long jump at 18-01.25. Hagedorn finished 5th in the high jump while Chad Carter picked up a 6th place finish in the 800. Other top 8 performers included JJ Orput (7th in 3200), Luke Sinclair (7th in 1600), and Dallas Wright (7th in 400 hurdles).
